Week #73 - Yoda of members

Our Christmas tree! We didn't have any Christmas stuff and a member asked if there was anything they could do, so we told them we need Christmas stuff and they gave us a tree! #whatablessing

Hola Everyone!

Life is good over here in Youngstown! We are supremely blessed it's awesome! SO many people are ready for the gospel and are willing to talk with us! There are people who we tried to teach the last time I was here and they weren’t ready, but now they are. We have a lot of cool people we are working with it's really great! 

One guy’s name is Tristen and he is SO cool! He is nephew of this cool guy I taught last time I was here. Anyways, Tristen had heard of The Book of Mormon, but never really looked into it. We have only talked to him a little bit and he is awesome! When we were talking about the restoration with him he was like this makes sense and it answered a lot of his questions. He still has some more, but we had to leave. PEOPLE ARE SO PREPARED THOUGH! ITS AWESOME! 

Life is grand my friends! Some funnies from the week though are I totally slipped down a grass hill, at one point in a lesson Sister Goodin and I had no idea what a guy was talking about, and handing out cookies to members.

First, we are getting out of our apartment one morning. I have a bunch of stuff in my hands and it's raining, so I am trying not to get it all wet. I was like I am going to go down the hill that way it's faster no problem, right? Wrong! I take like two steps and I fall right on my butt and everything I had in my hands go flying! I get up and pick it up and put everything in the car. Then I look at my skirt. ITS COVERED IN MUD. 😂😂😂 We go back inside and I go to change and realize everything is muddy.... my skirt, tights, shirt, everything 😂 I completely change and we get going for the day 😂 

 Okay, the next one is better. We are teaching this guy named Robert! He is awesome! He literally has a business card that says seeker of truth. Talk about being prepared! We have a lesson with him and Sister Neish (she is REALLY smart like Hailey Baker level of smart here). We are having a great lesson and He loves the Book of Mormon. At one point though he starts talking about something I am still a bit confused at what he was talking about. I am like I have NO IDEA! I look at Sister Goodin hopefully she knows and she looks as confused as I feel 😂 Then the member joins in and apparently answers his question about it. Man I am I grateful for members! Otherwise we would have been SO lost! 

Last funny! On Thanksgiving we decided to make some of Sister McElhaney's famous peanut butter cookies to hand out to members. That way we could get to know them a bit better. On Thanksgiving we made at least a 100 cookies to hand out to members. We just choose some of the members that we would be around that day. It was really fun! One was Brother Thibideau (yes that's really his last name 😂). He is a funny guy! He does A LOT for us! He wasn't home, so we just left his cookies on his door. On Sunday we asked him how he liked the cookies and he is so lost. We explained that we left cookies. He is about to leave church to get his cookies 😂 Later that day we get a call from him saying he can’t find his cookies 😂😂😂 We had to walk him through where we left them and he literally squealed like a little boy when he found them 😂😂😂 good old Brother Thibideau 

Life is good and it's a quality time her in Youngstown!
