Well Everyone.... this is it... the final weekly email...

 

That is right I think I will get out of denial and face the fact that I go home in 9 days, but this is my last pday. I have mixed feelings on it. I am excited for home, but I don’t want to leave this blessed land of Ohio. I have LOVED  it out here! I have seen SO MANY MIRACLES out here. I have met some of my best friends and have gotten to do the Lords work, so it's been a real good time. I know that this is the Lords work because if it wasn’t then I would have messed it up a long time ago, yet it still goes forward. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Christ church again restored on the earth. I know that God has restored it to the earth because He is our loving Heavenly Father and He wants us to return to Him. The only way to do that is by following our Savior and His teachings. Which is to have Faith Him, repent, be baptized, receive the Holy Ghost, and endure to the end. I know that as we do those things we will find joy in this life! I am grateful to have this opportunity to serve! 

 

This week though has been fun! We had exchanges and I got to go back to Warren for the day with Sister McElhaney! #WHATABLESSING Sister McElhaney is really great! I miss being her comp sometime because we have a good time eating all the gluten free stuff together. That and teachin people about Jesus. 

 

We also found out that two of our people have bed bugs.... yet for some reason people think it is okay to have people over when they have bed bugs.... Luckily, if you want to count it as luck I remembered my time in Sandusky and I knew what to do. We came back to our apartment and started washing everything. I think Ohio just wanted me to remember it 😂😂😂 We think we are bed bug free, so that is good. 

 

Oh cool thing from this week! We were knocking on doors and we meet this guy named Bradley. He had met with missionaries in the pass and he answered the door saying, "I believe in The Book of Mormon." Then he tells us how he is still reading and he knows the Joseph Smith is a prophet. We are like what do we do with that because we are shell shocked. We got our crap together and invited him to church and we are seeing him this Friday! 

 

One last fun! We had a lesson with this guy named Tristen. We had Brother Thibideau and Sister Fellows and it was so good. We ended up talking about the priesthood and how you don’t need a formal education to receive the priesthood because Christ apostles were simple fishers and they got the priesthood. We then compared that to Brother Thibideau and it was too good! It was so much shade being thrown at him. He was a good sport and took it. He sent it back though talking how God works through the week and simple aka us 😂 it was a bomb lesson though!

Hola Friends and Family!

Youngstown is full of miracles! God is blessing us! For example just today literally a random person called us and was like I need the gospel! What the!? We are meeting with her tonight and it’s going to be lit! Then we were at Walmart gettin my dino nugs and what not. We are checking out and this lady is staring at my name tag. I go say hi and she was sorry it's just been a minute since I have seen sisters. We were like did you meet with sisters or? She said she was from Utah! That’s right she just moved her from Utah. We get talking and her and Sister Goodin know each other! She cut Sister Goodin’s hair back at home one time! It was crazy! God is good my friends!!!!

Life is good and missions are great! God is really moving his work forward here in Ohio and PA it's awesome!!

We were going down I-80 and this car is on the side of the road. There is this older couple looking confused at their car. Mind you I am going like 70 and see this at a glimpse. We decided to stop. It's like a mile walk to there and we get there and their tire is totally blown! #flashbacktothesurbarn They couldn't get their spare tire.... Luckily, the got triple A and they were sending people out to them. They had been waiting for 2 hours by the time we stopped and NOT ONE PERSON had stopped to help them. We talked with them for a minute all while cars and semi are passing us at 70 mph 😂 

Can I tell y'all that the STL's are great. I mean one was my comp, but that is beside the point. We had interviews after District council, so we all kind of stayed at the building. We were doing some role plays with them and Sister Wolfe can hold the BEST grandma face! Go looked at the pictures! 

This weekly is all over, but know that all is good and that God is great!

Week #73 - Yoda of members

Hola Everyone!

Life is good over here in Youngstown! We are supremely blessed it's awesome! SO many people are ready for the gospel and are willing to talk with us! There are people who we tried to teach the last time I was here and they weren’t ready, but now they are. We have a lot of cool people we are working with it's really great! 

One guy’s name is Tristen and he is SO cool! He is nephew of this cool guy I taught last time I was here. Anyways, Tristen had heard of The Book of Mormon, but never really looked into it. We have only talked to him a little bit and he is awesome! When we were talking about the restoration with him he was like this makes sense and it answered a lot of his questions. He still has some more, but we had to leave. PEOPLE ARE SO PREPARED THOUGH! ITS AWESOME! 

Life is grand my friends! Some funnies from the week though are I totally slipped down a grass hill, at one point in a lesson Sister Goodin and I had no idea what a guy was talking about, and handing out cookies to members.

First, we are getting out of our apartment one morning. I have a bunch of stuff in my hands and it's raining, so I am trying not to get it all wet. I was like I am going to go down the hill that way it's faster no problem, right? Wrong! I take like two steps and I fall right on my butt and everything I had in my hands go flying! I get up and pick it up and put everything in the car. Then I look at my skirt. ITS COVERED IN MUD. 😂😂😂 We go back inside and I go to change and realize everything is muddy.... my skirt, tights, shirt, everything 😂 I completely change and we get going for the day 😂 

 Okay, the next one is better. We are teaching this guy named Robert! He is awesome! He literally has a business card that says seeker of truth. Talk about being prepared! We have a lesson with him and Sister Neish (she is REALLY smart like Hailey Baker level of smart here). We are having a great lesson and He loves the Book of Mormon. At one point though he starts talking about something I am still a bit confused at what he was talking about. I am like I have NO IDEA! I look at Sister Goodin hopefully she knows and she looks as confused as I feel 😂 Then the member joins in and apparently answers his question about it. Man I am I grateful for members! Otherwise we would have been SO lost! 

Last funny! On Thanksgiving we decided to make some of Sister McElhaney's famous peanut butter cookies to hand out to members. That way we could get to know them a bit better. On Thanksgiving we made at least a 100 cookies to hand out to members. We just choose some of the members that we would be around that day. It was really fun! One was Brother Thibideau (yes that's really his last name 😂). He is a funny guy! He does A LOT for us! He wasn't home, so we just left his cookies on his door. On Sunday we asked him how he liked the cookies and he is so lost. We explained that we left cookies. He is about to leave church to get his cookies 😂 Later that day we get a call from him saying he can’t find his cookies 😂😂😂 We had to walk him through where we left them and he literally squealed like a little boy when he found them 😂😂😂 good old Brother Thibideau 

Life is good and it's a quality time her in Youngstown!

Well everyone, 

 It's been another great week here in Ohio/ Pennsylvania now. I got my cute little trainee Sister Goodin! She's really funny. We literally were over in the chapel of the Talmage building for transfers. She was like and singing and just like strutting her stuff and stuff. 😂 Sister Hathaway was like that one’s yours. I knew it was true from that moment. Sister Goodin is great! It’s definitely different, but it is good! 

 I'm going to tell you about Sister Goodin’s first day in the mission. So I get it from transfers and it's a grand old time. We drive to the Warren apartment grab my crap and then to come to our apartment. Only problem was it's like 7 at night and cold, dark, and snowing. We get to the address the Elders gave us and it's the office..... We tried to call them, but our phone isn't working.... We go and knock on a random apartment to use a phone. This nice lady let us use her phone!  Elders give us the right number, but it's nowhere to be found and our phone is still not working at this point. We go to Mcd's to WiFi to message them. I was like it's been a long day I am going to get a hot chocolate. Bad idea... I go to open the tab thing and the whip cream EXPODES all over me. So now we are homeless and I am covered in whip cream plus the wifi wasn't working..... Sister Goodin is great though and asks a worker to use her phone. She let us! Blessing! The Elders tell us that it's on a different street. Mind you at this time it's now about 8:30... We go were the Elders directed us and no 2719.... we are homeless, cold, tired, and one of us is covered in whip cream. 😂 We turn back around and drive back to the STL's apartment in Warren.... we spent the first night on crappy blue mats 😂😂😂 it was an adventure to say the least and Sister Goodin is such a topper!!

We have had such a good time together so far! She has taught me SO much! It is awesome! Just a few things she had taught me:

1. That I could have come out here way more prepared

2. Just to go for it! She just jumps right in. Which is great because I talk way too much and she will jump it! 

3. Obedience is key! Is something I knew, but she is SO obedient! She is so willing to be obedient and we already seeing miracles because if it. It’s AWESOME! 

Some cool things then I got to go unpack because I haven't yet. 

So our standards for our mission is finding 5 new people and we were determined to get it our first week! We decided our first day to go stop by some of our people that the Elders taught. We go down this street and we got in contact with all of them! What a blessing! We are walking down the street we meet this guy named John. He is SO cool! He was like hey you need to meet all of my friends. They were at Klassy Cuts. Yes, it's classy with K 😂😂😂 We go in and teach everyone in the barber shop. It was lit!!!! They all were great! 

Missions are great!

Wooza what a week! 

 So much has happened! It has been quality. First off I am leaving Warren... I am sad to leave Warren, but I will probably be back here in a couple of weeks for exchanges because I am not going very far. I AM GOING BACK TO YOUNGSTOWN! I get to open back up one of my old areas! Oh and I am also training so there is that. It’s going to be SO much fun! What a blessing! It's funny though because I have spent almost my whole mission in this zone. I have only been in one other zone and it was only for about 2 months.😂😂😂 It's a good time because I love this zone!! Maybe it's because I don’t know anything else though 🤔🤣 We joke and say that my mission call should have said The Youngstown Stake instead of Cleveland 😂😂😂

Life is good this week we had exchanges with the Alliance Sisters, we got urgent text and voicemails, we rode our bikes, saw multiple drug deals, almost saw a naked man, one of the Elders lost his wallet, and had some good lessons with our people. 

Exchanges were bomb! We got to be in Alliance which is always a blessing because I love that place! I got to teach John! I don’t know if I have ever explained John, but his story is really cool! He is supposed to get baptized in Dec and I am hoping I will be able to go! We also raked a ton of leaves! Oh and I got to see Sister Fishburn (used to be Freed if you remember her from my emails at the start of my mission). She is so cute! When I was there we were working with her just to come to church and then maybe get to the temple. Now she is totally active and has been to the temple to do baptisms! She is awesome! It was really cool to see how far she has come and grown since I first started helping her.

Story time! One day Sister McElhaney and I are out doing missionary work. Talking to all the people it was great! If you didn't know being a missionary is THE BEST! We’re walking around and I am like I have to pee, but I was like we only have about an hour until we will be back at our apartment I'll be fine. About a half hour later, however I was dying! I told Sister McElhaney if we don’t find a bathroom in like 5 minutes I am gonna burst! We just pull up on the GPS a gas station. It's just a shell gas station, so we are like its probs fine. I am like that sounds great I really had to pee I didn't really care. We get there and it was the most Sketchy place I have been! This guy just did a drug deal as he was walking out of the store.... we still walk in because I need to pee!!!! We walk in and everyone looks at like why are there two white chicks in a dress at our shell. 😂😂😂 Then we look around and realize there isn't even a bathroom! So we scaddle out of there. We found a McDonald not too far away though, so I didn't die! 

Okay, one last cool thing then I have to go finish packing! So we are teaching this cool lady named Lyn. She is awesome! I taught at the start of my mission when I came here on exchanges with Sister Garvin. Ever since I have been here I have wanted to see her, but it just never worked out or it just didn't feel right. At the start of this transfer we went and saw her and we started teaching her again. I was a bit nervous because she didn't seem to be the biggest fan of The Book of Mormon last time. It was really good because we were able to get her into and actually reading it! She is going through it and marking it! She is way more open now to the message we share and it’s because she got into The Book of Mormon. That is the only different nothing really in her life is different not much has change for her since Sisters first started teaching her, but it's the power The Book of Mormon had because it is truly the word of God!

Sister Barrow Week #70 - Overflow with the Gospel

I am currently on my way to Kirtland with some quality people from one of Sister McElhaney's old areas. They are great! Because of this we don’t have time to write a weekly really so sorry beforehand 😊

This week has been bomb though! We had Zone Conference, exchanges, overflowed our gas tank, make cases for our Book of Mormon's, had an interfaith choir thing (it was lit), and talked about light the world (campaign to light the world with service).

First off zone conference is always the best! We have been doing this thing were the stake presidency will come and train us and it was SO good! President Connor (the stake president who is my homie) he gave us extra Book of Mormons to hand out and basically told us how cool the Book of Mormon is and invited to do what the prophet asked to do in the women's session and read it by the end of the year and highlight Christ name. Then told us to get everyone in the stake to do it! So I going to invite all of you to do it! Email me (megan.barrow@myldsmail.net) what you learn. I also love see pictures of people's Book of Mormons when they do because it is cool to see!

Funny from Zone conference we were cleaning the building beforehand and we did the mopping. We were going to put it back and Sister McElhaney spilled the whole bucket all over the floor 😂😂😂 I wish I got a pic of it. There was this giant wet spot in the middle of the hallway 😂😂😂

I wish I had more time because this week was SO good!

Sister Hathaway is awesome! We did some service and take leaves it was a great time! She is such a trooper and she takes what is given to her with the best attitude! I love her!

One last story then I got to go! We were filling up our car and it was the slowest pump ever! We talked to O'Brian and having a good time. Told him the first vision and everything and our car started to overflown!! We drive away and our car is like shaking because is so full. Hahahaha it's all good now and we get to teach O’Brain and his family!
