Dear Sister Megan Ryleigh Barrow,

You are hereby called to serve as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You are assigned to labor in the Ohio Cincinnati Mission, Ohio Columbus Mission, or Pennsylvania Pittsburgh Mission.....

Wait What!

Crazy news we got this week that the Ohio Cleveland Mission is being dissolved as of July 1st, 2018. It is sad news because this is the BEST mission! I have loved serving here and I know that I will continue to love it here. However, I also know that no matter what mission I get to end my mission will be the best and that it doesn't change what we are teaching or change the good time I am having. No matter where I go this gospel is still the same and God is hastening His work! The church is true and the book is blue!

Well, after that crazyness lets tell some funny stories! Bc that is the best part of the email. This week has been full of some good ones from this JW (Jehovah’s Witness) telling us she knows, people hitting on us, to a man with no leg that yelled at us to come in to his house, and floating trash. Sadly, I don't have time to tell you all of them. I had to go beat some Elders in basketball. Let's start with the JW. One day Sister Wadley and I were out tracting or something doing missionary things. Well, because I drink a ton of water so, I can make Sister Brown proud I had to pee! We decide just to go to a Mcd's nearby. Sadly though there was only one stall open so, Sister Wadley swooped in took it. I was sitting there waiting when in JW comes in. She had a little pin that said JW.org. I just start talking to her just about random stuff. Then she sees my badge and said, "You know Jesus?" I said, "Yep He is a cool dude." Well, we just start talking about Jesus which is always great. Sister Wadley comes out so, I go in and they start talking and I go pee. At one point this lady starts talking about the morality of the world then she said," I am 43 years old and never married and I proud to say that I am virgin." Mind you I am still in the stall. She then says, " I can tell you guys are too. I can tell." hahahahaha. I was trying my hardest not to bust a rib. I get out wash my hands and we start to leave then she said it again. "I can tell" hahahaha. What a good time. One last story! We were leaving an appointment we had with our investigator, Shawnee. There was this one guy just hanging out of his door so, I just waved at him and said hi. He asked us if we were Christian. I said yes we are and that we are the missionaries in the area. He said he are you good Christian women and I was like we just talk about Christ with people. Then his twin came out and he started talking with him too. We had to go but, as we were leaving he told us to stay beautiful. hahahaha. Youngstown man what a party!!!

I am sorry this email is so short and that my pics are few but, life is good and being a missionary is great!

Have a great week!

Love all ya!

Sister Barrow Week #28 - Surving the Snow, Defeating Dragons and Conquering Fear 1-17-2018

Hello from PA!

I hope everyone is freezing to death like we are. Jk it is not that cold....It was like 50 one day but, then it snowed that night and hit -2. I am pretty sure I am going to lose a finger out here but, that is okay I will look like my dad. hahahaha Life here is good though! I am still trying to figure out this PA thing, but I got a good comp! Sister Wadley is awesome! She has been out only a transfer longer than me so, it is kind of fun. She has only been here in PA for a transfer (6 weeks), so we both are just kind of figuring out the area. She has a head start on me though. It is good. The people here are awesome!

This week was Stake Conference and that was a HUGE blessing! I got to see all of my peeps from Alliance and we got to hear from Elder Sinclair from the 70. It was a party! One thing he talked about was faith. He used the bible dictionary which says, "Faith in Jesus Christ is the first principle of the gospel and is more than belief, since true faith always moves its possessor to some kind of physical and mental action" He talked about when we have true faith we have that action. True faith always means we are doing something. Which is something that I feel like I need to work on, so  I am going to work on having action behind that belief. I am going to work on just making my prayers more meaningful by just giving myself more time to pray. How can you guys increase your faith? If you think of anything let me know!

Now to write what everyone actually reads. The funnies. First off, being in a new area you legit know no one which is fun. Well, one day Sister Wadley asked me to text one of our investigators named David, to see if we could meet up with him Friday. He texted back, "Friday night I have a performance for the Yoga ladies." I was like who and what the heck is this guy!  It is all good though he apparently plays music for a yoga class, but at first I was SO confused! hahahaha What a good time. The other day it was like SUPER cold. We were getting ready to go and scrapping off the car and the ice on the outside was like an inch thick then we had a layer of ice on the INSIDE of our car! We ended having to sit in the back of our car and scrap the inside of the car. hahaha. Last funny comes from good old Mr.Smith, (he is our neighbor) him and his wife live in the apartment next to us. He is this like big black guy that is super awesome! Anyways, one night Sister Wadley and I were just sitting at our desks in our apartment (which is a downstairs apartment) when we hear the LOUDEST fart I have ever heard in my life!!! Mr. Smith right as he got to the top of stairs just let one rip. hahahahaha. I am just glad we couldn't smell it. Well, that's all for this week folks.

Love y'all,

Sister Barrow

Sister Barrow Week # 27 - Peace Out Alliance 1-9-2018

Hello Peeps!

A lot has happened this past week! First off Sister Lloyd is training again, and I am leaving Alliance. However, I am not going very far! I am actually staying in the Youngstown zone! I am going to Youngstown Area! What a blessing! I will have a part of and live in Pennsylvania so that is great! I am excited and the fact that I will be able to see Sister Lloyd on Sunday for stake conference is a bonus. God is good! The rest of the week was good! Nijah came to church and we picked her up as an investigator again so that is a blessing!

This is kind of a weird story and sad. We went to go visit Sister Flannery and no one answered which was super weird because she is an 80 year old lady who can't drive and like never goes out. Well, we tried stopping by on Saturday, so I could go say by to her and still no answer. Right then Sister Saxey texted us and told us that Sister Flannery had passed away. Tears a flowing in the car but, we had places to be. We got ourselves together and headed to our appointment with Nijah. We ended up talking about the plan of salvation and she opened up to us about her grandpa passing away and how it is still hard on her. We were able to share how we just found out about Sister Flannery and that how we find comfort in the plan of salvation and that we know exactly where Sister Flannery is and that she is with her husband and friends. As we continued to talk about the plan she just said it makes senses. It was just really good. God works in weird way and I am sad about Sister Flannery passing but, God using her passing to help His work. Which is what she would have wanted.

Now to make this a little more upbeat again and tell you some funnies. Last week when we were setting up an appointment with Nijah she told us that she would make us lunch and I told her that I can't have wheat and that she didn't need to. She wanted to. Well, we show up and she has pasta for us........ I couldn't have it so, I was just going to say that I don't want any but, she brought me like this huge bowl. Me being my super awkward self didn't know what to do. At first, I just set it on the table and talked but, then it felt like she was staring at me like why aren't you eating this food I made for you. hahahaha so, I just started eating the meat out of it and it worked out. hahaha.

That's all for this week! Hope you all have a great week!

Love ya,

Sister Barrow

Hello Everyone!

Hope everyone had a great Christmas and a good New Year! Both of mine were great! Christmas was great talking to my fam! New Years was a party.... JK we went to bed at 10:30 hahaha. The next day though we played games with the Saxey's (Bishop’s family) so it was truly a party. Honestly the rest of the past like 2 weeks have been a blurry but, still a good time.

Something cool thing that I read just like 2 days ago was in Doctrine and Covenants section 5. It was written back when Joseph Smith was still translating the plates and he had already lost some of the manuscript. In verse 21 it reads, "And now I command you, my servant Joseph, to repent and walk more uprightly before me, and to yield to the persuasions of men no more;" Which I think is interesting first off it just shows how even a prophet of God needs to use Christ Atonement. Which proves that even though this is Christ church the people in it aren't perfect. Heck even the prophet isn't perfect.

I got to go here in like two minutes but, some quick funnies first.  We were shoveling driveways yesterday and every single one of them told us we were crazy first, but still let us do it. hahahah. They told us it was too cold. We did it anyways... well, they were probably right about it being too cold because my hair froze!!!! My breath froze my hair. hahahaha. It was a good time though and after each driveway we did they gave us hot coco so we are solid. I got to go, but hope y'all have a great week!

Love all y'all,

Sister Barrow
