Sister Barrow Week #12 - The Fun Continues in Ohio 9-27-2017

 Leaves are changing
 Ohio Country Road
Sister Barrow and Sister Boren

Hello Friends and Family! This has been another SOLID week in the great Ohio! First off, we got to watch Women's Conference! It was so good! I loved Sister Eubank's talk. We as women are what is going to build the church. How cool is that? I invite all of you to go watch Women's Conference and go watch the rest of General Conference this weekend. You can find it at lds.org

Reading was great! I thought a verse in 1 Nephi 22 is fitting for this week because of General Conference. It is verse 20. It talks about how the Lord will prepare a way for His people. He will call a prophet and if you want to follow Him (God) then you need to listen to the prophet. Lucky us we get to listen to the prophet and apostle this weekend. Well, like always I am going to keep reading on into 2 Nephi and I am going to read chapter 1, 2, and 3. I also would love to hear anything you learn from conference this week. :)

Well, you know it wouldn't be a normal week if I didn't do something stupid. This week I accidently whistled at an old man in some tight biker shorts..... We were just walking in a park talking to some people and I started whistling. Well, right when I started whistling we passed this guy in the biker shorts. So, I basically cat called an old man in biker shorts. We also lost our phone for a whole day... It is all good though. We found it after a wild goose chase to find it. It is kind of funny that we didn't have it for a day and we only missed 6 texts... obviously no one likes us... JK it was all good.

Hope y'all have a great week! Have a great time watching conference!

Love you all,

Sister Barrow

Sister Barrow Week #11 - The Murder of Sister Barrow... Hahaha JK Brother Crish still likes me 9-20-2017

 The paint mess, story below
Riding lawn mower she was so excited for this....
And the slime she got stuck to the ceiling.....
Another crazy week in Ohio. It is a party out here! To start off our investigator Karen has committed to a baptism date!! Woot Woot! She is such a cute lady. She is also going out to good old Salt Lake to see general conference. She is so excited about it. She is going to buy her scripture out there so she can have legit scripture. Karen is so funny. We also got a new investigator named Seth who we met at the park and he told us we could call him pancake. He is pretty cool as you can tell. We also thought that our favorite 91 year old lady Sister Stiver died. She didn't she just asked too many people for a ride to church and no one could get a hold of her. Aw man what a lady. Gave everyone a heart attack but, she is all good. Oh, also I got to drive a riding lawn mower this week so, it has been a pretty fantastic week.

Reading for this week was good. I love The Book of Mormon. In 1 Nephi 15:8 it says, "And I said unto them: Have ye inquired of the Lord?". It is a really short verse but, it reminded me of a less active we are working with. Brother Maxon he has a hard time understanding The Book of Mormon so, we asked him to pray before and ask for help in understanding. He is now getting so much more out of it. He is understanding the story now of what is going on. It is awesome. So, have you inquired of the Lord? Have you asked Him for help in what you need? I am going to be reading 1 Nephi 19-22

Now onto some funny stories. Well, I spilled like a gallon of paint all over the Crish's house. We went over there Wednesday to finish painting. I was just doing some trim work, nothing too hard. Well I was on the ladder getting the top and went to step down and I started falling but, I caught myself on the ladder. The ladder moved a little because I did that and hit a cord on the floor and the paint can went flying. It got all over their living room. I thought Brother Crish was going to kill me! I saw my life flash before my eyes. Luckily it mostly on their carpet. Which they are getting rid of!!! Then on Sunday we had an appointment with a less active, Brother Fink, we were reading The Book of Mormon with him. Sister Boren was reading and she said wonton (like wonton soup) instead of wanton. Then her and the member we brought with us, Sister Saxey, laughed so hard at it that they started to cry. Brother Fink and I just stared at them trying to figure out what was wrong with them. Well, that is it for this week. Well, that is basically all that has happened this week. Hopefully I don't make a mess of anything else.

Have a fabulous week!

 Love,

 Sister Barrow

Sister Barrow Week #10 - The Longest Week 9-13-2017

 Park by Megan's apartment

Shaving Cream..... Read the post you will understand :)

HEEEELLLLOOOO EVERYBODY! This has been a weird week. We had prep day on Tuesday last week because of transfers. It has been kind of a weird week because of that. We also have been doing a lot of service. Which is awesome! One because service is fun and two I get to wear pants! We have been helping paint the Crish's house. They are awesome! Sister Crish said that I was a really good painter so, I guess taking theater design my senior year was worth it. I mean I was also being compared to Sister Boren who kept hitting her butt on the fresh paint. hahahaha. We also bought nightgowns this week so, it has been pretty great. We are slowly turning into old nuns but, we are fun nuns.

The reading was good this week. One thing from the reading that I have used a lot as we have been teaching the Restoration is 1 Nephi 13: 24-29. In here is it talking about the Bible and when it first was written or when it "proceeded forth from the mouth of a Jew" it contains the fullness of the gospel. However, now it doesn't because the plain and precious things were taken out by man. Knowing this though our wise Heavenly Father brought forth The Book of Mormon. He did it by calling a prophet just like He did in times of old. He called Joseph Smith to be His prophet and to translate The Book of Mormon. If you really want to know who God is and what His plan is for you then you need to read The Book of Mormon and pray about it. I know that it is true because I have done those things. I have asked God myself if it is true. I know without a doubt that The Book of Mormon is the word of God and that it contains the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Well, I will now get off my box and tell you what I am going to be reading. I am going to read 1 Nephi 15-18 this week. I would love it if y'all would join me and email something you like or learned in reading it.

Now onto funny things from this week. One-time Sister Boren was going to the bathroom and I was just waiting for her so, we could leave. Well, I thought it would be a great idea if I scared her when she was coming out. I could hear her washing her hands and I decide that it would be really funny if I put shaving cream on her face. I hurry up and get shaving cream on my hands and she opens up the door and I clapped my hands. Oh man the shaving cream went everywhere and Sister Boren screamed so loud. Hahahaha. Thanks fam for sending me shaving cream. I have put it to good use. Oh, this week we were out tracking and we run into this guy named Rocky. Seemed like a pretty cool dude. I mean he has a really cool name so, he can be weird right. We are talking to him for a while asking him about his beliefs and what not. I can't remember what church he was from but, he told us about how he goes around trying to help everyone follow that apostle teaching. We are like great we got this and then he starts asking about how we are baptized and so we tell him and then he told us we are doing it wrong. Then he told us that we need to be baptized again because we weren't baptized with Jesus name. Hahahaha. It has been a solid week.

Hope y'all have a great week!

Love ya,

Sister Barrow

GOOD MORNING EVERYBODY! jk it isn't even morning. Well, you might be reading this in the morning I don't know. This has been another solid week here. First off we got a new investigator named Karen! She is a member referral from the Wagley's. Karen is awesome she has taught all 5 of the Wagley kids German so, far. She has one more to go. Well, over the past couple of years of having all of the Wagley's she has grown close to the family. All of the kids and their kids call her aunt Frau. Frau apparently means lady in German (I have no idea). Also, sorry if I spelled it wrong I am just guessing. Karen is awesome! She is super respective of everything. She has good questions too. She is basically pre-taught because the Wagleys are such great member missionaries. This week we also had exchanges. Exchanges are so fun! I was able to exchange with Sister Jenkins. She is going home this week. It was great learning from her though. She such a great missionary!

1 Nephi 9-12. That was quite a bit of reading. I wanted to really focus on chapter 11. It is when Nephi see and understand the tree of life vision that his father, Lehi, had. I like in verse on really that Nephi had the desire to know. He wanted to understand and see what his father had seen. Then he had faith that the Lord would and could do that for him. That is when he too was able to see the vision. Do you have that faith the Lord can work to show you the truth? Do you believe that He can answer your prayers? For this week I am going to be reading 1 Nephi 13 and 14. I want each of you to read with the question in mind, What I am learning about Jesus Christ and His Atoning Sacrifice?

Now a funny story.  We were out tracking we only had like a half hour because we had to leave so, we could get to exchanges.  Which means we only could go to a couple of house. We were going along doing our thing, we go up to this house and you can tell people are home. We go up and ring the doorbell. No one is answering. Then through the window I see this grown man MOONING me. Yes, a grown man mooned me. You could hear his daughter say "Dad don't"  hahahahaha. After that we leave, we are driving home, we are stopped at a light, we wave to the car next to us. It is two boys (like 16 or 17). When the light turned green one of the boys blew Sister Boren a kiss. I think that she got the better end of the deal. Hahahaha Well, that is basically it for this week. Hope you all have a great week!

Love y'all,

Sister Barrow
