Hola Everyone!

What a week! We had transfers on Thursday, conference Saturday and Sunday, MLC Monday, and a butt load of lesson in between. It's been a solid week!

First off CONFERENCE! Man after conference I was just was pumped and is President Nelson awesome! If you guys haven't watched all the sessions yet go watch them! It was a bomb time! Also President Nelson is totally a prophet and 12 new temples. Also I am pumped for 2 hours of church. Oh and the women's session was lit! I have been reading The Book of Mormon like President Nelson said and I am only in like 1 Nephi 6 and it is SO COOL! It is amazing to see how many times Christ name is used. Something I have been noticing is how Laman and Lamuel never talk about Christ. However, when Nephi and Lehi talk it's in almost every verse multiple times. It really shows how Christ centered their lives were.

Second off I have an awesome new companion. Sister McElhaney she is super chill and it is a fun time here in Warren. Two things to prove she is a grand old time is she has Celiac so basically we are BFF's #glutenfreeforlife. Second, is that she legit is hilarious! Example of this is we walk in to our apartment right after transfers, so after about a 2 hour drive... We walk in Sister McElhaney puts away some of the stuff she needs to put away. We are about to leave and I am  like did you put your insulin away because she is also diabetic too and I learned a few things from Sister Franks. She is like flip! She forgot it in her last apartment. Luckily we figured out a way to get it from the Ashtabula Elders. So the next night we are driving to this place way out in the boonies #ripourmiles 😂 we are out there and our gas light turns on, but I like we should be good because we got like 30 miles... ya I was wrong. We get to the Elders and we had like no gas...  Luckily randomly in the middle of nowhere there was on gas station and it was like a 1/2 mile away #blessup. After that experience I was like man this is gonna be a bomb transfer.

Okay some other funnies then I am done because I haven't even emailed my mom... #sorrymom Anyways, we met this cool lady named Michelle and her daughter Alison and we went back to talk with them and we were having this great lesson with Michelle. Eventually Alison comes out and she brings her boyfriend.... We talk with him for a sec and he is cool. They listen for a bit, but they are teenagers so they lost interest after a minute. They go and sit on the porch and start kissing.... we just keep going with our lesson with Michelle and it's going good. We get to the 1st vision and we hear this smacking noise in the background 😂😂😂 these two kids are making out as we are teaching the 1st vision. Only in Ohio 😂😂😂 it was a bomb lesson still and Michelle's son came in at the end and she taught him about what we just taught her! It was awesome! Another funny is THE SOBER HOUSE! Sister Franks and I a couple of weeks ago met all these guys and we felt like we need to go back to talk with them. Sister McElhaney and I this week did and it was SO much fun! We met a couple of new guys and they are so prepared for the gospel. We sat on the porch and we talking with them. Barry, the guy in charge, gets a call from someone and they got a complaint saying there were a bunch of women on the porch. Barry just laughed and it's like it's two missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint. The guy on the other end just laughed and was like they are good to stay 😂😂😂 Also Barry totally used the full name bc he read a while article about it and super respected it. All of them are really cool, but we just have a hard time setting up time to meet with them. Which leads us to today. Crap happened and we have been running around like chickens with our heads cut off, BUT miracles have happened today! We ran into one of our sober house friends at Walmart and totally set up a time to meet with him and all the friends! God is good my friends!

Keeping doing what you are supposed to and God will bless ya!

Love,

Sister Barrow

PS if someone could yell at Claire Burtenshaw for me and ask her why she didn't tell me she was in Ohio that would be great.

Hello!

Okay, I don't want to email and I have tried to write this like 5 time.... This week has been a blur. We had exchanges with New Castle Sisters, it straight up down pour on us, ate a giant bag of chocolate raisin in 2 day, almost died ringing a door bell, had dinner with Sister Ketterman and Sister Saunders, and a ceiling fell on one of our people.

Start off with exchanges! What a party! Sister Hathaway is SO cute! MAN she is one stellar missionary! Mom you should  text Sister Hathaway's mom and tell her that her daughter is top notch. Thanks 😘 Anyways, it was really fun and Sister Hathaway is the best!

Okay, funny story! We were eating dinner with the Headrick family and they told us to go stop by this family. We were like cool will do! We were gonna go a different day then our appointment cancelled, so we decided to check them out. It of course was out in the boonies and it was pitch black as it is dark here at like 5. Which is SUPER lame! We go and ring the door bell and there is a GIANG SPIDER on the door bell. I wasn’t gonna touch it! We knock on the door instead! A lady yells out the window and asked who it was and we said the missionaries. She comes down laughing and opens the door. We get in and she was like sorry I had to put my gun away 😂😂😂 I also got killed by the spider and then by a member. She was super cool and we had a good lesson with her. Also random side note, but she has THE FATTEST CAT!!!

One last story then I am done. One of our people, Leetta. She is a funny one! We have been teaching her daughter for a little bit, but this week we got to meet her. We walk into their house and their wasn't a ceiling.... She tells us about how she was sitting on her couch and the ceiling just fell on her! She got some nails stuck in her arm, but luckily nothing really else. She told us about how she knows God was protecting her and her family. Man being a missionary is the best. She also told us she wants us to help her get baptized! We are like great since that is exactly what we do 😂

Being a missionary is the best!

ELLO! - name that movie

Okay, I really don't want to email today. So much has happened this week and I don't even know where to start. We had Zone conference, there was a spider in the font, we apparently have street names, all my friends are dying, we biked in the rain, found a mouse in our apartment, we had the best frosting, Anitta got the BEST blessing, and there was a tornado.

So to start off we had Zone conference! It was going to be at the Youngstown building, but they didn't have any water to their building...... We couldn't go there obviously, so we ended up in our tiny Chapel in Warren. We also had another Zone with us... It was a blessing though cuz it was Kirtland Zone!!! It happened to be the zone with all my friends. I got to see THE Sister Wadley, Sister Heaton, and all the other Sisters! Zone conference was a blast and I learned so much. We talked about a belief window which is SO cool! I can't really explain it over email, but y'all should look it up. It is a talk by Hyrum Smith call Belief window! Go read it!

We also biked in the rain this week. We could have done it on a nice and sunny day, but we decided to do it when it was pouring rain... It was so much fun though! We rode through so many puddles and my inner child came out! We also met a really drunk lady who told sister Franks she was pretty and that I was just alright😂😂😂😂 it was a really great day!

Okay, we have the best members! A couple of days ago  Franks and I really wanted frosting. We were talking to a member about it and we show up to their house use the bathroom like two days later and they had frosting for us!!! We were like we are totally going to eat this when we get home, but then we had spoons in the car!! Sorry we definitely ate all of frosting why we were in our car! 😂

Also I lost my name tag running to our car, so we could get back to our apartment in time. You guys I am SO out of shape! 😂 I totally lost my tag though and I was super bummed about it. Sister Franks is a real pal and we went back like a day later to look. We were looking and nothing. We look through a lawn we cut through and I FOUND my rag in the middle of the grass! #blessup

One last thing and then I am done bc I hate emailing. #sorrymom Anitta who is one of our people and is the most converted person to the gospel! Was supposed to get baptized this last Saturday, but family crap went down.... LAME! Last Wednesday night we went over with Brother Long (his wife gave us the frosting and they are THE BEST). He gave her a blessing and it was one of the most spiritual moments on my mission!!!! She is going to be baptized on day and oh man God loves her SO much!

Life is AWESOME here in Ohio and miracles are happening every day! I love being a missionary!

Sister Barrow Week #63 - Did you know... 😂

Found a cool caterpillar

Cute Sister Jensen with a butterfly she caught
Sister Franks and I made frosting and took a cute pic
                                                             Exchanges with the whole gang

Hola Everyone!

This week has been a Boss week! We had exchanges with the Lisbon sisters, had a weird lesson at the Goldbergs, Heidi and Kimmy helped us out on a lesson, and we met a really cool less active name Brother Zugg.

First and foremost, exchanges! I went with Sister Jensen and oh man it was a boss time! I haven't laughed that hard in months! We ended up eating soggy rice in our car, got our hands kissed by an old man, and so much more. It was SO good! We had a bomb lesson with one of our people named Cal. He is an old softball ump so obviously him and I are good friends. He gets off subject a lot though and Sister Jensen was able to keep him on track and maybe help me a little bit too 😉 She had such a strong testimony of Joseph Smith and The Book of Mormon, it was what made the lesson so good.

Okay, this is a funny! We were going to Heidi and Kimmy's to teach them a lesson. We get there, and they have their friend Mike over. He is a cool guy! He started asking us questions and we are answering them. Kimmy is doing a great job like backing us up and talking about how we have answered her questions then randomly she said, "Did you know that we lived with God before?" 😂😂😂 it was just so random. Like we were talking Jesus and how He restored His church through Joseph Smith. Oh man I love Kimmy!

One last thing! Is Brother Zugg! He is awesome! We knocked on his door and the first thing he says is the he is less active because he doesn't have a car, so he can't get to church. Then he goes and asks us questions he had about his reading. He is in Alma in The Book of Mormon. We didn't have time to answer all his question then, so we set up a time for us to come back. We go back, and he is sitting on his computer indexing! Like honestly who is this guy! Usually when we meet less active they are A. Sitting there smoking or B. Don't like us. I guess there is an option C now of they are awesome and are like Brother Zugg! Don't worry we got him a ride for church this Sunday! God is good!

Hola Friends!

This week has been a week that is for sure!

First and foremost, Heidi and Kimmy got baptized!!!! It was SO good! Sister Cox and Sister Chance got to video in! Sister Chance is in a different mission now, so we pulled some strings and surprised Heidi and Kimmy with Sister Chance. It was awesome! Heidi and Kimmy are really great! Kimmy almost couldn't make it to church on Sunday to get the gift of the Holy Ghost, but we got it figured out she had to wear her work uniform to church. She is dedicated! It's awesome!

The rest of this week was kind of crazy. Yesterday we went and visited the major college campuses in our zone. President Stratford wanted us to talk with all of them and make sure we had approval to go proselyting on the campuses. It was SO weird to be around people my age. Also funny to see what kids my age are doing and what I am doing. I am SO grateful I have the restored gospel and came on a mission!!!! This is truly the best thing ever! Y'all should go on a mission!

Okay one funny from the colleges really quick. We went to YSU (Youngstown State University). We were on campus with the Ytown Elders and there are all these kids running around with nerf guns and bandanas. We stop and talk to one of the group's running around and it was a zombie game. 😂😂😂 My only thought was Forrest would love this. That night I had a dream about zombies too 😂😂😂 College kids! I want to pull a Peter pan and never grow up and go home.

Cool and funny thing from this week. The other day Sister Franks and I were setting goals in the morning and we decided that we wanted to find 2 new people that day. Which would be a push because we had like no finding time, but we felt good about it. One of our appointments fell through in the morning and we were able to find one new there. His name is Jordan and he is cool. He loved the Plan of Salvation as we taught it to him. We only had 1 more to find and we have been finding machines and we had about 30 minutes to find, so we were solid. Everything ended up changing around and we didn't end up having any time.... We were walking into an appointment and this guy named Bill drove up and asked us if we were lost. We were walking from the street to the house.😂😂😂 We talked to him for about 5 minutes and were able to teach him some of Restoration. Bam just like that we hit our goal. It was really cool. When we set righteous goals and have God on our side miracles happen! It was SO good! It’s all in God's timing.

God is good!

Love,

Sister Barrow

Hello Everyone!

It's been a week and I still don't have motivation to email. I am half tempted to pull a Sister Boren and not email 😂😂😂 I have made it this far, so I guess I can do it.

Mission are so much fun and so much happens. That's part of the reason that I don't like emailing because there is so much I want to put in here, but don't have time to do it.

This week has been another quality one! We drove the trek down to Columbus for Mission Leadership Conference with the Akron Sisters again. Those two sisters are so funny! We started counting how many mini vans there were and in the space of about 10 minutes we saw 52 mini vans 😂😂😂

We also had exchanges yesterday with the New Castle Sisters and I got to go with Sister Skeen. She is a great missionary! We were stopping by some potentials and walking around. I am updating in the phone. When Sister Skeen said we need to go talk to that person. I look, and this person is all the way down the street pulling weeds. We go and talk to her. She was pulling weeds and we help her out. There we all are this lady in a BRIGHT orange shirt and two girls in dresses weeding. 😂😂😂 it was cool because we were able to teach this lady the full restoration while we pulled weeds. There were so many weeds that I got blisters from pulling weeds 😂😂😂 we got through the restoration and her questions though! God is good!

This week we also got stung by bees!!! We were helping Sister King out with her garden and we notice how a ton of bees are around. I found the hive and we are like we can just avoid it. That plan didn't work. They got really mad and ATTACKED! They first got Sister Franks in the knee. She has a little hole in her knee from it. Then they went full beast mode on Sister King. She was attacked by like 50 bees! She luckily only came out with 3 or 4 stings. One got her on the finger. Sister Franks and Sister King ran into the house and I am scot free at this point. I get into the house and two sting me! One on my arm and neck. We make a paste and cover our wounds and head back out. We finished service for her and I had a swollen itchy arm and Sister Franks had a hole in her leg 😂😂😂

Finally, is that Heidi and Kimmy are getting baptized on Saturday! I will email more about that next week but keep them in your prayers! They are both super great and I am super excited for them!

Hope y'all have a great week!

Love,

Sister Barrow
